Baguio is not only blessed with its cool climate but also with its rich culture and education. The City houses the best universities in Northern Luzon. No wonder students from different provinces and abroad come to the cold Baguio City to study.
In no particular order, here is a list of notable universities in Baguio and Benguet:
Saint Louis University (SLU)
Ranked top 201+ in the 2010 QS Asian University Ranking, SLU proves to be one of the best universities not only in northern Luzon but in the whole Philippines and Asia.
SLU has consistently been producing top notchers in the different professional examinations. Recently, the University produced nine top notchers in the 2015 Nursing Licensure Examination.
SLU has nine schools. These are Accountancy and Business Management, Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering and Architecture, Humanities, Law, Medicine, Natural Sciences, Nursing and Teacher Education.
The University has not only local but also international linkages with research and educational institutions in different countries like University of Castle in Australia, World Links in USA, National University of Singapore, UNICEF, and others.
Students need to pass the College Entrance Examination (CEE) before they will be admitted in any program.

University of the Cordilleras (UC)
Formerly known as the Baguio Colleges Foundation (BCF), UC is a champion of the preservation of the Cordillera as manifested in their university logo and frequent cultural shows.
The University is the only HEI in the region that offers trimester programs. UC has 10 colleges. These are Arts and Sciences, Law, Accountancy, Business Administration, Criminal Justice Education, Engineering and Architecture, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Information Technology and Computer Science, Nursing, and Teacher Education.
A record holder, the University has ranked 1st for 37 consecutive times in the licensure exams for criminology. Long live, UC-CCJE!

University of the Philippines- Baguio (UPB)
UP-Baguio, from the name itself, is an academic institution of the University of the Philippines System.
The University has five degree-awarding units. These are Arts and Communication, Sciences, Social Studies, Institute of Management, and Graduate Program Office.
A research university, it has a strong foundation on Cordillera studies as exemplified in their Cordillera Studies Center (CSC).

University of Baguio
Started with 80 students, UB proves to be one of the premier universities in Baguio with about 15,000 enrollees.
UB has 11 schools. These are Dentistry, Business Administration and Accountancy, Engineering and Architecture, Liberal and Human Sciences, Information Technology, International Hospitality and Tourism Management, Criminal Justice and Public Safety, Law, Natural Sciences, Nursing, and Teacher Education.
UB notes that their facilities are equipped with the latest equipment to provide their students a wonderful learning environment. UB is the only private school in the city that has a junior Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Benguet State University (BSU)
Founded in 1916, BSU is an agricultural university located in La Trinidad, the capital town of Benguet.
The university operates 10 colleges and 2 institutes. The colleges are Agriculture, Teacher Education, Forestry, Home Economics and Technology, Engineering and Applied Technology, Arts and Sciences, Nursing, and Veterinary Medicine. The institutes are Public Administration and Human Kinetics.
As compared to other institutions in the region, BSU is the only university in the region that runs an open distance learning system, the Open University. OU offers graduate programs in Development Communication, Public Administration, Public Health, and others.
To note, BSU is the only university in Northern Luzon that offers Development Communication both graduate and undergraduate.
